History of Summer Song

This yacht was originally purchased new in 1967 by its’ first owner. They named it “Irish Mist”.  In 1993-

94 it was sold by the widow of the original owner to another couple who owned it for about one year.

 They named it “Cheers”.   During this time, the 2nd owners had the decks and roof painted.  The current owners, Ron and Pat Smoker, purchased the boat in March 1995, moved it from Lake Michigan to Lake Erie and named it “Summer Song”. The following winter they completely gutted, reconfigured, and restored her interior.  New fixtures and appliances were installed during this time.   During the first two years of their ownership, the 427 Ford gas engines were retained.  In 1996-97, these were replaced with 3116 350HP Caterpillar diesel engines and new Twin Disc transmissions. Throughout the following years, many items have been added or upgraded.  A detailed maintenance log is available upon request.  Summer Song has participated in numerous Chris Craft Commander Club Rendezvous activities and been visited by many boating enthusiasts.  She has received the care and attention of her conscientious owners and provided many hours of fun and summer memories for her family.
